    Hi Richard- I was going to ask you about this if you were doing again this year. Then I saw this new video. Is that early girl plant? How often will need to refill during hot summer? Also is it better to use a determinate plant to keep growth less?

    • @richardcarlisle1
      @richardcarlisle1 20 дней назад

      Hi Dave-- best plant by far is Jet Star. No refilling first 5 to 8 weeks, then fill about 4 gallons per week in order to maintain level between one tenth and one third full-- never overfill!

    Hi Richard. I have purchased your LiquidSoil product some time ago and am trying it out on some rose cuttings. For the vase that you use, is it important that the vase keeps the cut end and roots (when they appear) in the dark or will a see thru glass vase work aswell?

    • @richardcarlisle1
      @richardcarlisle1 Год назад

      Hi Vic Thanks for a good question regarding vase transparency. It is fine to use a see-through vase temporarily, but algae will soon appear within a week or two, which will affect the nutrient chemistry, so at that point you can switch to an opaque vase. Here's wishing you great results!

    • @mangofever4681
      @mangofever4681 Год назад

      @@richardcarlisle1 Thanks, 40 tomatoes are perfect for me. I am using 5 gallon buckets with 6 inch net pot covers. The length of the cup is 5 inches and my bucket is 14 inches and I made a hole at 9.50 inches leaving half inch of water touching the pot. I hope the 4 inch above the pot will grow enough air roots. I plan on refilling to 9.50 inches.

    • @richardcarlisle1
      @richardcarlisle1 Год назад

      As the roots grow you could keep a lower liquid level and provide eventually a humid air space of 10 inches, for more abundant air roots... see my "Hydroponics for everyone " youtube.

    You never followed up! Seafoam brand cleaner works miracles on most things other cleaners don't, and when you have it apart like that (I just had a similar one apart gunked up the same) -- simple green surprisingly works well (with a bit of scrubbing like you were, paper towel is fine). I'm guessing you got it back up and running, though!

  • @teeveealf4621

    i also noticed that years back, i believe cyanoacrylate based super glue absorbs water to harden, so it will stop rust from spreading and form a hard plastic layer on top to protect from further rusting.
